The consulting consortium Neckarschleusen has been awarded the contract for rehabilitating up to eight and extending up to four ship locks. The consortium encompasses the engineering companies Hydroprojekt Ingenieursgesellschaft, Spezialbau Engineering and the project leading firm DC Water and Environment.
The consulting services are part of a large scale infrastructure project aiming at the navigability of the Neckar river for 135m boats and the maintenance of structural safety and usability of the ship locks for the next 80 years.
