”Indicators” analyses the Geographic Information System (GIS) and resources at DG-TREN and the requirements for database system development and functional specification. The final task of ”INDICATORS” is to refine the list of indicators providing recommendations on harmonised performance evaluation indices related to the current and future requirements of the trans-European network.

Description

The purpose of "Indictors" project is to study the technical, institutional, legal and contractual aspects related to the establishment of a monitoring mechanism to evaluate the trans-European infrastructure and traffic. The goal is to specify the evaluation  framework to measure the performance of the Trans-European Transport network (TEN-T) and its components. Indicators are used in their widest sense and include mobility and infrastructure status and performance at the national level in both Member States and candidate countries for Accession. Modes and sectors concerned are roads, airports, inland waterways and ports, seaports, freight railways, freight terminals, passengers railways, interchanges, air traffic management, and road telemetric at the Trans-European level.
